deep tissue

A therapeutic and relaxing massage that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. This massage is the perfect choice for clients with ailments such as chronic back pain, neck and shoulder pain, repetitive strain injuries, sciatica and muscle tension or spasms.

The tissue is warmed before slowly going deeper, and deep tissue can be performed with a variety of pressures (to your comfort level) to break down adhesions and knots, the painful rigid tissue caused by tension.

Particularly tense areas may experience some discomfort during the massage, and your body may feel like it does post-workout for a day or two afterwards. However, this tends to abate with more frequent massages, and ultimately clients experience extensive and often lasting relief of their symptoms. Ideally, as with any bodywork, this massage should be performed regularly for maintenance and to prevent your body from becoming accustomed to holding itself in a tense state.

Combine this with Thai massage assisted stretching to not only relieve your tension, but also increase your range of motion and flexibility.

Also available as a four-handed massage, where two therapists work on you simultaneously.

sports massage

Combine deep tissue and sports stretches to enhance your athletic performance, increase range of motion, endurance, speed of response and flexibility for your upcoming game, or to relax and recuperate after the exertion of sports and reduce your recovery time. We recommend gym clients get a massage post-workout. Our therapists work hand in hand with our trainers, enabling our team to devise a regime for you to ensure you reach your goals.

shiatsu

This Japanese bodywork is a form of acupressure where the therapist applies pressure with their thumbs, fingers, palms, knees and elbows to tsubo (acupressure points) along meridians (energy pathways) corresponding to the body’s vital organs. This balances the body’s qi (energy flow) and imparts relaxation and pain relief. Shiatsu also includes stretching, rocking and mobilization. This modality can be performed fully clothed on a padded mat, or incorporated in your table massage.

lymphatic drainage

Light touch moves excess lymph and fluid out of the tissues and back into lymphatic vessels. Excellent for conditions such as edema and boosting the immune system.

medical cupping

The therapist uses a medical cupping machine to apply suction to the surface of the body to  draw out pathogens and invigorate the body's qi  (energy flow).

Types of Massages

thai massage

Thai massage is ideal for clients in search of a more energizing massage experience. Affectionately dubbed “lazy man’s yoga”, this approximately 2,500-year-old art form is traditionally performed fully clothed on a padded mat, but can be performed on the table. The client wears loose and comfortable clothing such as sportswear to facilitate the assisted poses, stretches and compressions. The practitioner uses forearms, elbows, knees and feet to increase flexibility, energy (by opening the body’s energy/sen lines) and better postural alignment. A much sought after modality due to its multitude of benefits, we are proud to be among the few in the area to offer this unique therapy.

If you wish, our therapists can also blend Thai massage with other modalities such as deep tissue to customize the perfect massage experience for you.

Also available as a four-handed massage, where two therapists work on you simultaneously.

reflexology

In reflexology thumb pressure is applied to reflex points on the feet that correspond to parts of the body. This results in relaxation, balancing and healing. It can also be performed on the hands and ears.

Available as a full 1-hour treatment blended with Reiki or as a 30-minute add-on to any treatment.

hot stone

Enhance your massage experience with heated stones to warm muscles and relieve tension.

Available as a full 1-hour or 90 minute treatment where entire massage is performed with stones

pregnancy massage

A nurturing massage where the mother to be is specially bolstered and positioned to ensure her comfort. This reduces pregnancy swelling and stress on feet, ankles, lower back and neck. We only perform pregnancy massage after the first trimester.

pnf stretching (add-on)

Proprioceptive neuromuscular stretching is a sports massage technique to increase range of motion and improve motor performance and rehabilitation.

ashiatsu

The therapist supports themselves by holding on to bars above the massage table and gives you a luxurious deep tissue massage with their bare feet. This is a refreshingly different massage, and we are one of the few facilities in the area to offer it!

swedish massage

While deep tissue tends to get more “to the heart of the matter” by relieving chronic pain, Swedish massage is more about overall relaxation. Long gliding strokes, kneading and friction on the more superficial muscle layers improve blood flow to the soft tissues, increase circulation and alleviate muscle tension.

Combine this with Thai massage assisted stretching for a massage that not only relieves your tension, but also increases your range of motion and flexibility.

couples massage

Two of our therapists will pamper you side by side with a massage of your choice while you relax and enjoy some quality time with your significant other or a friend.

thermo therapy

Utilizes moist heat packs to provide heat to the areas of your body that are being treated. Adding the heat packs along with your massage helps to increase blood flow which relaxes the muscles, reduces pain, and promotes healing. This allows the massage therapist to work deeper and specific to the affected area. Adding heat packs to your massage can be used in combination with deep tissue massage and for relaxation. Other massage types can be used upon request. Available for 60-minute and 90-minute massage sessions.

Appointments must be made a day ahead of time for this specific treatment.

reiki

We are all composed of energy. In Reiki energy healing the practitioner fills themselves with the energy around them and channels it to the client through their hands. This aims to enhance the client’s own healing abilities, induce relaxation and reduce pain. Depending on their level of openness and their rapport with the practitioner, each client may experience this differently. Often, it can be described as a tingling yet soothing sensation where the practitioner’s hands heat up to soothe tension and impart relaxation. For Reiki practitioners Reiki generally flows through their hands whenever they perform any type of healing work.

If you would like Reiki to be part of your massage, please request one of our Reiki practitioners when you book your massage. This is also available as a 1-hour standalone treatment.

trigger point therapy

Incorporate this technique in any massage to relax and relieve the sore knots that refer pain to other parts of the body. Finger pressure is applied around and on these knots, starting slowly until the knot “invites you in”.

aromatherapy(add-on)
Enhance your psychological and physical wellbeing by adding essential oils to any of our massages.
myofascial release
(add-on)
Myofascial release causes the fascia to relax and unwind for soothing pain relief. Injured muscle fibers and trauma result in shortened and tightened fascia, causing pain and tension. In this stretching technique the therapist slowly stretches the fascia, the connective tissue network surrounding the body’s muscles and organs, guided by the patient’s response.
